Debits are held by SMART, who in turn submits them to your lender. This results in more efficient payments to your lender on or before the monthly due date. This set-it-and-forget-it plan is the perfect way to save you money.

To become a member costs a deferred fee of $399. This covers your membership and allows you to add additional bills at any time. This fee is collected from your initial accelerated debits. Accelerated debits occur when debits collected exceed the loan payment due each month.

If you are debited twice a month or every two weeks, there is a $2.49 fee per payment if using a checking account. That fee is bumped up to $3.95 if you use a debit card instead. Similarly, if your payment schedule is weekly, the debit fee is $1.25 for a checking account and $1.75 for a debit card. Finally, if you are debited monthly, the debit fee is $4.95 for a checking account and $6.95 for a debit card.
